Next Level Tips: Reduce Blockages!

Next Level Tips: Reduce Blockages!

Need some next level tips from the best plumber in town? Perfect! We’ve got you covered! Next Level Plumbing’s owner and master plumber, Byron Thomson, has some tips for you on how to reduce drain blockages in your home!

There is never really a good time for your drain to back up. Whether it is the shower, sink, kitchen, or toilet, it is very frustrating and will be a pain until it is taken care of. So how can you reduce the amount of times you will need to call a plumber to clean the drains with a snake?

One of the very common stoppages in bathroom sinks and showers is gunk buildup with hair. The gunk comes from soap scum, shaving cream, toothpaste, etc., that builds up in the drains and eventually blocks them up. The sink starts to get slower and slower and because of that the edges of the bowl get dirty much faster, until finally you have to call the plumber.

One thing you can do to reduce the chances of this happening is to use a product that has safe bacteria and enzymes in it which eat that gunk that builds up. This helps break down the amount of gunk in the lines, ensuring the lines run clear for longer. These have an added advantage of not being a chemical, which is drastically safer to use in your house.

Also manually cleaning any hair you see before it goes down the drain is helpful.
