Looking Ahead at 2020

2020 Is Just Around The Corner!

This year has flown by, it’s hard to believe 2020 is only a few days away! A lot of things have happened this past year, but the biggest change for Next Level Plumbing was that we bought another truck and put Byron’s brother (an excellent & experienced plumber also) in it!

By growing the business we are slowly and carefully taking steps towards our future goals! It’s exciting, motivating, a little bit daunting… but with Byron’s passion, experience, and determination Next Level Plumbing is continuing to become more and more “next level.”

Throughout 2020 we will be working hard to continue providing positive experiences as well as maintaining our Next Level reputation!

What are some goals or things you plan to work towards this upcoming year?

Sometimes, when setting goals it’s good to look back a bit and reflect on what last years goals were, and what you accomplished over the past year. This can help you set realistic expectations and reasonable goals for yourself this year!

Curious about Next Level Plumbing, where we came from, and what our goals are? Feel free to check out the blogs shared below, written by Next Level Plumbing’s owner and master plumber, Byron Thomson!

These “Revolutionizing the Industry” blogs from Byron really helped us set the tone for starting this business and are great for us to look back and reflect on when setting goals for the upcoming years as well! Maybe they will help you to understand our vision and Byron’s passion for revolutionizing and improving upon the image, quality of work, customer experiences, and reputation of the plumbing industry.

Adding More “Scents” to Your Christmas!

Merry Christmas Eve!

Today we’re re-sharing with you a flashback from last years holiday season, but it’s definitely one worth repeating! Sharing some of her favorite holiday essential oil blends with you today we have the amazing artist, blogger, teacher, equestrian, and mother- Debbie Herbert!

My mom is incredible at so many things, and she offered to be NLP’s guest blogger for today! Please enjoy as she takes over and shares her favorite holiday diffuser blends!

There is nothing that says “it’s the holidays!” more than stepping into a home filled with the sweet smells of Christmas baking!

Or for that matter…who doesn’t love the smell of a fresh cut fir tree and apple cider filling the air? Either your olfactory glands are completely out of order or your personality may resemble that fabled green guy who eventually wondered, “can there really be more to Christmas than presents?” After all your hard work baking, shopping and decorating, there’s really a very simple way to make your home perfectly inviting.

The answer? Essential oil diffusing! So easy and with the added benefit of avoiding commercial noxious chemicals found in cheap candles and sprays.
Let’s talk about some fun E.O. holiday ideas. If you don’t have a serious essential oil collection like some of us do (my daughter tells her friends I’m the E.O.”queen”), you can easily start with something you may already have in your pantry!

1. Stove top holiday potpourri.

In a saucepan combine an orange or apple thinly sliced with a couple of sticks of cinnamon and a few drops of French vanilla or peppermint extract. Fill with several cups of water and simmer on the stove, adding water as necessary. The best thing next to fresh baked cookies smell!

2. Add a few drops of Holiday Blend from Doterra, or other reputable E.O. company to a portable diffuser like this one.

Battery operated, silent and practical…it emits a lovely holiday scent without overpowering the whole house. This little one was picked up at Whole Foods, but you can find them most anywhere!

3. Plug in a scented wax melt like this nice little one…handy for the guest bathroom!

4. To ensure germs are squashed before they do their nasty work, you can diffuse a blend called Thieves. If you’re a do it yourself type, you can easily create your own Thieves blend from 4 or 5 individual oils. Recipes abound on Pinterest!

5. Finally, for no fuss and a subtle hint of scent in the air, add one drop of either peppermint, orange, lavender or vanilla onto a lightbulb! The warmth will diffuse the oil without overpowering a room. Once you’ve started diffusing a few oils, you may want to start a collection.

Some of my favorite companies are the aforementioned Doterra, Eden’s Garden.com and Piping Rock.com.
Who know…you may even become the next Essential Oil Royalty!

Merry Christmas!

Our Winter VS Their Winter

Christmas In Florida!

What THEY have to worry about VS what WE have to worry about during this time of year!

We’ve gotta admit, we’re pretty lucky to be living in Florida, especially when we take into account that around this time in many other areas of the country it is freezing cold, and in my opinion rather miserable outside! Florida winters provide various perks for us that we might not even recognize unless someone reminds us about them.

For instance…

The Plumbing Up North VS The Plumbing in FL during the winter!

Plumbing differs depending where you live, and it makes sense because up north the weather effects the water, and that obviously effects the plumbing too! Pipes can freeze up there (which is why there are plumbing products made so as to minimize freezing pipes and so on) and because of that installation is done differently too!

The ground can also freeze upstate, which means it can be difficult to dig and do various plumbing jobs because of it!

If you happen to get snowed in, this can cause problems too! You’ll have to wait for that plumber to get to you until the roads are cleared!

If you plan to escape the freezing northern winters you’ll also need to take into consideration how long you’ll be gone, you don’t want the water inside your house to freeze up, so that might mean leaving on the heat or some other preparation.

How about down here in sunny Florida? According to Byron who’s plumbed in the Sarasota area for over 15 years, he’s never seen pipes freeze up in our Florida winters, so that’s something we can be thankful for! On top of that, Byron’s glad he doesn’t have to shake ice off his boots when working at a job where he has to go in and out of the house often, for Florida winters- ice no, but possibly mud! The only things that can really cause an issue to plumbing here are hurricanes or the occasional overwhelming amount of rain we can get!

Basically, we can be thankful for our mild winters and build sandmen at the beach in our bathing suits while our northern neighbors bundle up and experience the real winter weather! Though us Floridians might get a bit jealous due to lack of holiday cheer (aka no snow, Christmas trees to cut down, etc) we’ve got a pretty sweet gig going for us here! Don’t forget about the many blessings in your life this holiday season!
